Our experience as Newbies Certified Digital Marketers was an intriguing one, oh yes! From zero to completion, we could say Digital Marketing is a full-time job.

First, it was like a mission-impossible task, as the team members were inactive on the first day.

On the second day, one team member started a thread- to introduce ourselves and indicate our strengths & weaknesses.

Starting as a team was a rollercoaster for different talents, mind-blowing and gritty sets of people. Creative minds coming to create a tsunami, lol.

One week of unrelentless, different ideas and prospects, cooperation and dedication, putting all what was taught during the training and searching for more knowledge to deliver a great project.

It’s an amazing learning and development experience. Most importantly teamwork was the drive after all, phew!

Two members of the team volunteered to be the Team Lead and Assistant Team Lead with the consent of the rest of the team members.

Our Team lead is so positive-minded and a leader, I must commend. Pushing us to try new things and giving room for opinions & suggestions.

Not leaving out our Assistant Team Lead. These two are a combo we resonate with. There was no room for slacking even though we are using the Slack tool (just kidding).

A whole new experience of talents from bloggers, graphic designers, and Content creators. A force of women pushing women to do better (did I forget to add- we only have 1 guy on our team, wait for his story o).

The task includes creating a digital marketing plan & 2 weeks content calendar, plus newsletters & blog posts for our brand.

The first step to solving our task was to vote for a sector to work on- Food, Fintech or Fashion. Five out of eight members voted for the Food sector, with the reasons being that food is the most needed and a respecter of no one, lol.

The second question was- should we use an existing brand or create our brand? We finally decided with creating a new brand. Our team lead came up with four options, almost immediately and we all agreed on the name that made the most sense- CHOPITNAIJA

Our Team Lead didn’t waste time assigning tasks to each person to keep the ball rolling but not for too long, we had to put our weaknesses to use because the deadline is approaching (this is day 3, lol). There was so much tension among us.

The Team Lead and Assistant Team Lead worked on the digital marketing strategy and shared the other tasks with the rest of the members. The main teamwork issues emerged, from one difficulty to the other. We had to move from Slack to Whatsapp so that we could easily track who is reading messages and not responding (yes, it was that serious).

Two team members worked on the newsletters. Two team members worked on the blog posts in the shortest time. All hands were dirty, it’s an experience that brought out our ALL, even the ones we saw as weaknesses.

Remember I talked about the only guy on the team, yes- he was working on the content calendar before his laptop tripped off, when it came back, the content calendar was nowhere to be found on his laptop. That was a new issue to start tackling, another member of the team stepped in & got the content calendar done within 2 hours.

The team lead showed her strength as a leader. There was no controversy between the team despite working with different individuals who possess different characters and attitudes.

The collaboration between the Team Lead, Assistant Team Lead and other members that contributed with their ideas helped with the completion and success of this task.

Against all odds, we present our bootcamp task! It was a very stressful week, to be honest. Hopefully, the subsequent weeks won’t be this hectic.

Once again, we are proud to say- WE DID IT! MD & CC Team 9 did it!
